Every device donated becomes a learning tool. Every rand funded becomes a door opened. Real people in township communities are waiting — and you can change that today.
"Growing up in Etwatwa, I saw the same story play out — young people with talent, but without a laptop or a data connection. Astute Tech exists to change that. When you give here, you're not donating to an organisation. You're handing a tool to a person who's ready to use it."Bryan Botilheiro — Executive Director, Astute Tech Foundation
Whether you need support or want to give it — here's exactly how the process works from start to finish.
Youth and community members in need of technology support or funding for tech education can apply directly. Applications are reviewed against clear criteria — no favouritism, no gatekeeping.
Fill in the form below — tell us who you are, what you need, and why. Attach proof of need (school letter, ID, or enrolment confirmation).
Your application is assessed against our criteria within 5–7 working days. You'll receive an email update on its status.
If approved, an anonymised version of your need is published on this page for donors to fund. Once fully funded, we contact you to arrange fulfilment.
Businesses and individuals can donate devices directly or fund specific bursaries. Every contribution is traceable, receipted, and Section 18A tax deductible.
Fund a specific active need, make a general donation via PayFast, donate devices physically, or partner with us as a corporate sponsor.
Cash donations go through PayFast. Device donations are collected or dropped off. A Section 18A tax certificate is issued for all qualifying donations.
Once your donation is fulfilled, you receive a direct update — what happened, who it helped, and the outcome. Real accountability, every time.
These are anonymised, verified applications currently open for funding. Each need was reviewed against our criteria before going live. When a need is fully funded, it moves to our fulfilled wall.
A motivated 19-year-old who reached out to us directly. Highly focused on building a career in cloud computing and DevOps, currently self-studying but cannot practise coding or complete online certification courses without a device. No financial means to purchase one.
A 24-year-old student currently pursuing studies in Civil Engineering, IT and Logistics. Highly motivated and disciplined, preparing for internship applications but unable to afford the tools needed for research, assignments and skills development.
A primary school principal in a digitally underserved KwaZulu-Natal community reached out requesting support. Educators have no access to digital tools for lesson planning or administrative tasks, directly limiting the quality of education delivered to learners.
